General Questions
Getting started with your study abroad journey.
Why should I study abroad? +
Studying abroad gives you access to world-class universities, exposure to global career networks, and personal growth from living in a new culture. Graduates of overseas programs typically earn higher salaries, adapt faster to global workplaces, and build lifelong international connections.
How do I choose the right country and university? +
It comes down to your academic profile, career goals, budget and lifestyle preferences. Our counselors match you with countries and universities that fit your profile | considering course quality, tuition, cost of living, post-study work options and long-term settlement pathways.
Which countries does Astra Brij Global help with? +
We handle admissions and visa support for Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, United States, Ireland and New Zealand | with 50+ partner universities across these destinations.
How long does the whole process take? +
From the first consultation to a stamped visa, most students complete the process in 3 to 6 months. Timelines vary by country, intake window and how quickly documents are provided.
Can I study abroad if my grades are average? +
Yes. We work with universities that offer a wide range of entry requirements, plus foundation, diploma and pathway programs that let you upgrade to a full bachelor's degree over time.
Application & Eligibility
Everything about applying and qualifying.
What documents do I need to start? +
A copy of your academic transcripts and certificates, a valid passport, a passport-size photo, and a basic CV. English proficiency scores (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE) and a Statement of Purpose may also be needed depending on the university.
Do I need IELTS or TOEFL to apply? +
Most universities in the UK, Australia, Canada, USA, Ireland and New Zealand require it. Some Malaysian and Singaporean institutions accept alternatives like SPM English, MUET or internal placement tests. We'll tell you exactly what you need for your target universities.
When should I start the application process? +
We recommend starting at least 6 to 9 months before your intended intake. This gives enough runway for offers, scholarships, English tests, financial documentation and visa processing.
Can I apply to more than one university at the same time? +
Yes | in fact we encourage it. Applying to 3–5 shortlisted universities improves your chances of getting an offer and gives you leverage when comparing scholarships and program options.
Do you offer foundation or pathway programs? +
Yes. If you don't meet the direct-entry requirements, we'll place you into a foundation, diploma or pathway program that leads directly into a bachelor's degree at the same or partner university.
Financial Considerations
Fees, scholarships and living costs.
How much does it cost to study abroad? +
It varies widely. Malaysia and Singapore start from around RM 25,000–60,000 per year including living costs, while UK, Australia and Canada range from RM 90,000–180,000 per year. We'll give you a full breakdown covering tuition, accommodation, food, insurance and travel before you commit.
Does Astra Brij Global charge any consultation fee? +
No. Your first 30-minute consultation is completely free with no obligation. Our university placement service is also free for most partner universities | they pay us on your behalf once you enroll.
Are scholarships available? +
Yes. We help you apply for merit-based scholarships, need-based grants, partner university bursaries and government scholarships. Our counselors know which awards you're realistically eligible for and how to strengthen your application.
Can I get an education loan? +
Yes. We work with several banks and licensed lenders to help you secure a student loan. We'll also help you compile the financial evidence needed for the loan and your visa application.
Can I work part-time while studying? +
Most destinations allow international students to work 20 hours per week during term and full-time during holidays. Regulations differ by country | we'll brief you on what's allowed at your destination.
Visa & Logistics
Visas, arrival and settling in.
What is your visa success rate? +
Our first-attempt visa success rate is 98% across all destinations. We prepare every application in-house | from financial evidence to interview coaching | to give you the strongest possible case.
What happens if my student visa is rejected? +
In the rare case of rejection, we review the refusal reason with you, strengthen the weak points and re-apply | typically at no extra service fee. Many students who were previously rejected elsewhere have been approved with us on the second attempt.
How much money do I need to show for a student visa? +
Each country sets its own minimum. As a rough guide: UK needs about £12,000–13,000 in savings, Australia needs around AUD 24,000, and Canada requires CAD 20,635 (plus first-year tuition). We'll give you the exact figure and format for your destination.
Do you help with accommodation and airport pickup? +
Yes. Our pre-departure service includes on-campus or off-campus accommodation booking, airport pickup arrangement, forex, SIM cards, insurance and a cultural briefing so you land ready.
What about health insurance while I'm abroad? +
Health insurance is compulsory in most destinations and is often bundled with your tuition or visa. We'll confirm what's covered and help you top-up with additional insurance if needed.
